Enhanced Recovery After Surgery

Enhanced Recovery After Surgery or ERAS is a package of care that is designed to speed your recovery following surgery. It is supported by the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Anaesthetists and has now been adopted as the standard pathway for patients undergoing major surgery across the country. The Enhanced Recovery team is made up of many health professionals and you as the patient are the team leader. There are several components to Enhanced Recovery which are described in the video below.
