The Theatre Team

A number of different teams operate in the surgical theatres at York Teaching Hospital.  They will escort you down to theatre from the admissions unit. They will care for you throughout your operation and ensure you arrive comfortably onto the surgical ward afterwards.

The various staff groups working in theatres include:

• Operating department practitioners
• Health care assistants
• Registered Nurses
• Operating department orderlies
• Sterile services
• Radiographers
• Pharmacists
• Domestic services
